. moderate right now but steady on our drive from pacifica through san francisco this morning. luckily the people who were on the roads were driving quite slowly, taking heed to the potentially dangerous conditions this morning. things right now in pacifica, the gates are supposed to be open on the pier, we saw a group of about ten crappers hoping to go cracking but they couldn't because the gates were closed. one gentlemen approached us and asked why are the gates closed? our assumption is it is a precaution because the weather will only continue to get worst. the water hasn't exceeded the seawall yet, but chance are they will. we are standing back so we won't get hit by the water. wind is coming from the south instead of the west and that could cause some problems today. but we will have the latest coming up in about 30 minutes. for now reporting live in pacifica, abc7 news. >> moderate rain but you are certainly getting wet out there. thank you. >> yes. >> the weather has been causing problems all over the bay area. one of the biggest was at the corner of 17th of potrero in san fran
as the story develops. >>> san francisco police are hoping that someone out there could help them solve a murder mystery popular high school football player from concord was shot to death over the weekend. amy hollyfield is live at concord high with more. >> reporter: they are going to have a vigil for him friday night on the field. he was on the football team. 17-year-old montreal blakely was shot sunday night in the bay view district his coach describes him as a great kid and teammate no was hardworking and got good grades. parents can't imagine what he was doing in the bay view. >> everybody that has ed about him has had nothing but he's -- humble, quiet, good guy, nice person. this doesn't seem to be part of that fabric. >> reporter: police say they need help solving this case. they are asking anyone with information to come forward and tell them what they know. he was in the bay view with a friend. they are hoping someone knows or saw something. they have no information on possible suspects or motive. amy hollyfield, abc7 news. >>> 5:05. the mother accused of abandoning her newborn
on illegal immigration will be speaking in san francisco, hostile territory for him. terry mcsweeney is live with what to expect. >> reporter: the sheriff of maricopa county arizona joe arpaio the most controversial and tough sheriff in america speaking to an association of alarm companies today there's a convention going on some are alarmed that he came to san francisco, take a look last night he went to john's grill down the street on ellis and got a chance to meet up with the sisters of perpetual indulgence. he's very aggressive in enforcing immigration law. u.s. justice department says too aggressive they filed a lawsuit against him for racial profiling. parents and teachers had students write letters in spanish accusing arpaio of being a racist and breaking up families. he wanted to respond face-to-face and set something up for today, the school cancelled. >> he can explain every one of those allegations and let them know it is not true and try to educate them that we should enforce the law. >> reporter: san francisco district attorney gas gone knows arpaio, gascon was top cop in mesa i
with rain, everybody else mostly cloudy and low to mid 60s. >>> 5:03. san francisco's ban on public nudity could be official today when supervisors take a final vote. protesters promise to be at today's meeting to make their opposition heard as well as seen. terry mcsweeney is live in the castro with more. >> reporter: here in the castro is where this push to allow public nudity began and really where a lot of opposition came up and big reason why it may be ending today. there's been a vote, 6-5 in favor of covering up. the vote may not be the only thing revealed today. take a look. members of the san francisco body freedom movement stripped in the board chambers november 20th, after that first vote, more of the same expected today because of this statement by the group: if they reject the ban we celebrate our victory. if they approve the ban we all get naked. if they lose they are going to strip. you have to wonder what they would do if they won. the supervisor weiner who represents the castro district is leading the charge in favor of the ban. >> i don't agree that having yellow hair is
